For infants, do the same as kids but instead of using the heel of your palm, use two fingers.
Infants (small babies)
Kids (toddlers to children)
Step One
Sit and hold the child across your lap facing down. Make sure to hold tight so they are supported. Elevate their bottom slightly higher than their head.

Step Three
If the object has not come out after five back blows, turn the child facing up. Still on your lap and still keeping their bottom higher than their head.
Step Four
Give five gentle but firm chest compressions with the heel of your palm to the breastbone.
Step Five
Repeat the five back blows and then five chest thrusts object is not yet removed
If after the first set of 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts that the object does not come out, call 911 or a medical emergency center.
